Gloucestershire Council for Voluntary Youth Services (GCVYS)

What is GCVYS?

• GCVYS is an independent charity, affiliated to the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services
• We have supported voluntary youth organisations for over 30 years
• We are the only countywide independent body representing uniformed, non-uniformed and faith-based voluntary youth organisations working with young people of all ages
• We are experienced practitioners working within different youth sectors, with a wealth of knowledge and skills
• We are all volunteer members of GCVYS
• We are a resource!

Above all we are a partnership with a core purpose to support young people to have quality informal educational experience.

What can GCVYS do for you?

• We can act as a champion for voluntary youth organisations
• We can provide leadership and support to develop best practice and standards
• We can work with members to strengthen their capacity in terms of ensuring easy access to advice, information and support
• We can offer advice information and support on training opportunities, networking, funding advice, sharing practice and resources
• We are currently seeking to explore how we can increase our role as a training consortium to the voluntary youth sector within the County
